The Wall Street Journal reported  today that Toyota is planning an aggressive marketing campaign this Fall, as well as the introduction of new Prius models.     Toyota executives reportedly revealed these plans in a recent meeting with U.S. dealers.

Toyota’s upcoming marketing blitz will likely mean more cars, more choices and better deals for those shopping for a new Prius.   This should come as welcome relief for those who have encountered a tight market in the aftermath of the Cash for Clunkers program.

Details of the new Prius models haven’t yet been disclosed, but it’s expected they will expand the line at the high and low ends, with slightly larger and smaller versions of the car.

The marketing campaign will likely include special financing rates, and perhaps other incentives to lower the retail price of the car and drive demand.  Production is also reportedly being increased to insure plenty of inventory at dealerships.
